I set up the LaTeX for Humans blog in October 2008 to provide some support for researchers in the humanities working with LaTeX, an open source tool for creating documents.
I use LaTeX because it can display non-Latin alphabets, handle different transliteration styles, and for its elegant, professional-quality output.
LaTeX is largely used by the scientific community, so much of the support and documentation is for them – it can be difficult to track down information for the humantities.
I hope my blog will prove useful for people working with this system and related packages like ArabTeX and BibLaTeX.
